Terms of Service

Last updated: July 4, 2026 · This is a plain-English summary of our terms; please consult counsel before relying on it.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your viewer token safe. Anyone with the token can see your data. We will never email you asking for it.

Acceptable use

Wovenmap is for tracking your own location and the devices you have authorization to track. Don't use it to monitor people without their consent — that's illegal in most jurisdictions and is grounds for immediate account termination. The one authorized exception is Supervision/Agency mode below, which is consent-based and enrollment-gated.

Supervision / agency mode

Agency mode is an optional feature for participants in community-supervision programs (probation, parole, pretrial, or similar). It is inactive by default and turns on only when you enter a code issued by your supervising agency and accept an explicit in-app consent screen. You should also have a separate supervision agreement with your agency; Wovenmap is the tool that facilitates it, not the legal authority behind it.

When agency mode is active, you agree that: (a) each check-in confirms your identity using Face ID on your device (a pass/fail result only — your Face ID data never leaves Apple's secure hardware) and, for a risk-based subset of check-ins, a self-photo compared on your device against reference photos you enroll; (b) your check-in results, check-in photos, and the location history your agency monitors are shared with your supervising agency; and (c) those supervision records are retained until your supervision ends or a court order releases them, as described in our Privacy Policy. You may delete your account at any time; supervision records are subject to the retention just described, while your non-supervision personal data is deleted within 30 days. Wovenmap performs no cross-user facial recognition and uses no third-party face-recognition service.

Evidence reports

Signed evidence reports carry a cryptographic hash chain meant to detect tampering after the fact. We do not warrant admissibility in any particular court — that's a determination made by the judge with input from counsel and an expert witness if needed. We will, at our discretion and where requested, provide expert witness affidavits about how the system works.

Service availability

We target 99.5% uptime. Your phone keeps logging while we're down; pings queue and flush when we recover.

Disclaimers

Wovenmap is provided "as is." We don't promise the data is complete or accurate. GPS lies sometimes. Phones lose signal in tunnels. Don't rely on this for safety-of-life decisions.

Limitation of liability

Our maximum liability for any claim is the amount you've paid us in the prior 12 months. We're not liable for lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential damages.

Termination

You can cancel at any time. We can terminate with 30 days notice for any reason, or immediately for breach of the acceptable use policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas. Disputes go to courts in Tarrant County, TX.
